About Us
Cydonia Technology is an exciting new company that aims to bring the person-centered approaches of Applied Psychology to the worlds of home and business Information Technology. Using the research methods of Psychology, we aim to discover the true needs of clients, and design solutions that meet those needs. At the end of the day, we want to help people do their jobs better and with less stress, not just install computers and cables.
To this end the business will start by simultaneously entering two core arenas:
Online Sales
Our core focus for consumer sales will initially be through an online websales portal. We intend to design a custom platform that will allow customers to find and buy the systems or upgrades that they need. Further the online platform will allow existing customers to view their past purchases, give them links for drivers, and advice on upgrades. This will also help our customers manage their systems’ life-cycles.
Further, the online platform will also allow us to do direct component sales, thus allowing us to compete with other online sellers.
Business Consulting
Our initial market for business consulting will be the small to medium size business market. We feel that the core problem with IT in this arena is that it fails to find a middle ground: companies either pay far too much for their IT solutions and end up buying technology for the sake of technology, or they buy on an ad hoc basis and end up with a semi-functional and difficult to use infrastructure.
In this case we intend to use proper research skills to design a coherent approach tailored to each company, and enact that approach with technology that will make the company more effective.
In particular this will involve:
- Network Cabling and Infrastructure
- Server installation and configuration (Linux and Windows Server)
- Workstation deployment and management
- Custom application/ web application development
- Database Creation and Management
- Network Management Solutions/ Life-cycle management
- Data Management and Backup Solutions
We also offer specialised services to corporate customers based on what they need. These work through our research-consulting model: we find out what our customer needs and then find out how best to solve that need, be it through our in-house services or by finding a good, reputable third party.
The Future
Once the business has become established we also intend to open a direct sales store, and expand by integrating the online platform to in-store sales. The intended effect of this will be to create a loyal and satisfied customer base, as well as providing continual marketing and market research outlets.
In conclusion, our goal through this business is more than just making money. We want to be able to help people become more productive and less stressed in their daily use of technology. This way they will be happier in their jobs and in their personal time, and we can make the world a slightly better place.
