Cydonia Technology aims to break from the traditional approach to IT. In our experience bad solutions in small and medium companies come in two varieties:
- One-size-fits-none prefabricated solutions where an IT contractor has came, installed and left a huge mess. People have to jump through hoops everyday to do the simplest tasks because the technology gets in the way. Even worse is when these solutions break down and the original contractor is nowhere to be found. You can tell if your network is like this if the printer only works half the time and the consultant tells you it’s ‘a new feature’.
- Bob, who’s good with computers, built it... IT, like everything, has people who believe that they are experts, but really aren’t. It could be a pushy staff member or the boss’s kid, but somehow they get the boss’s ear and use it to create their own little technological empire and inflict terror on their co-workers every time a password needs to be changed. You can generally tell these networks by the 16 character passwords, and the experience of your files vanishing once a month.
While this may seem like an exaggeration it does happen, and when it does you and your staff lose time, become stressed and your business losses money.
